Solid classic dishes for any occasion! We enjoyed the appetizers and mains! I got the fish tacos which were nice! The chunky guacamole appetizer was a great starter. This is one of the better restaurants on Greenwich ave

August 2024 - Deciding to pick a different restaurant from our usual spot in Greenwich, we chose Bistro V. Described as a French restaurant, the menu is really not that French, but it does have something for everyone. Noon on a Saturday, the majority of my tablemates wanted brunch. One ordered the Eggs Benedict, which was cooked perfectly, in that for me, the eggs were not so runny the plate was full of yolk.

Another ordered the three egg omelette of the day which our wait staff told us there wasn't one but any of their many ingredients could be chosen to taste. The two cheeses offered were goat and cheddar. The meat option was bacon. Multiple vegetables were available. The omelette ingredients were cheddar, bacon, raw onion (over caramelized), mushrooms and green pepper. Seated in the middle of the room, I had a view of the kitchen, and was surprised to see a kitchen staff member pick up the upper fold of the omelette with a bare hand to see if the ingredients inside were correct, but since the person eating it after hearing this didn't care, I will leave it to readers if they do or not.

I chose the classic Croque Monsieur sandwich as the only item I could find that was actually French. All three dishes were satisfying. I'd say the Eggs Benedict was the winner. An omelette is an omelette, and my Croque Monsieur which I only ate half of was good, but I'm not sure I would order it again. The ham used was higher quality. All three meals came with mesclun.

In terms of drinks, they did not have the Heineken one of our party would have preferred, so he had a Corona they served with the proper glass and a slice of lime. My green gimlet was perfect with a crisp mint leaf floating on top. With my sandwich, I had a Lyons Sauvingnon Blanc that complimented my sandwich in the best way. We did not have a starter, dessert or coffee. The vibe is casual and easy. Staff is very attentive. Many paintings on the walls are for sale. There is outdoor seating on and off the sidewalk. A beautiful day, the outside area off the sidewalk with couches and tables was full.

Bistro V is the first French restaurant I’ve ever visited, and like many of the Greenwich Ave restaurants, everything was top tier! First, I want to give a shout out to the bartender, because he made one of the best mocktails I’ve had! It was a fruit punch one and made me feel like I wasn’t missing out by not drinking. All of the food was delicious, and the highlights for us were definitely the short rib and the chicken paillard. We also had some of the best chocolate truffles we’ve ever had for dessert! I totally want to come back for breakfast/brunch, and I think their pastries must be amazing too based on the quality I experienced in everything else. Love the bistro feel and how cozy the restaurant was!

Great staff, nice environment with great bar seating. Loved that they allowed me to change the salad to fries. Had ham and cheese omelette and croque monsieur. Omelette was good, croque monsieur could’ve been good but the inside of the sandwich was cold, cheese was still intact and not melted.

Had a lovely time - they had a live singer playing throughout brunch today. The steak pillarcard is excellent but the clam linguine wasn’t. The clams were so tiny u could barely see it. Lots of butter sauce but not much flavor. However the service is good and the atmosphere is excellent. I enjoyed our time there for sure. There is a little bakery upfront where people ordered pastries - we didn’t have any but it did look good - will return for sure to try something else

On 10/17/2024, my family and I had the misfortune to visit this simply awful place, which left me with very bad memories. I ordered a medium rare steak and got a well-done steak that was burnt and hard, when I asked the waiter what he brought me I got the answer that it was a medium rare steak. I have never tasted such a tasteless hard, dry and bad steak in my life. My daughter ordered bolognese pasta, but the minced meat in the dish was bitter and tasteless, so she ate only the pasta and left all the minced meat on the plate. The salad that my wife ordered was not included in the order at all, so we ordered it again. Also, the most outrageous thing is that I did not leave a tip and they added 20% to themselves and took it off my card without my knowledge. I will never eat at this place again and I don't recommend you to visit this eatery. It looked like a decent place, but the food was terrible. There are much better places on Greenwich Avenue where the food is delicious. My advice to you is not to go to this place, avoid it and you will save all the time and money!

Adorable place! Ordered two delicious fruit tarts...they were absolutely incredible! It was super lively and busy, even on a rainy Saturday! I would highly recommend for their pastries.
