Just like the other reviewers. If I could give a negative star I’d give this company -5 stars. Just a horrible experience. This company is NOT a good choice to work with. Dave is a liar, dishonest and worst of all, does not stand behind what he does. I had dealt with Dave before with minor issues. We ship material from California to Florida. We ordered (8) 20ft tall Italian Cypress for a special client along with a full semi truck of other material. The cypress were $425 each. Dave sent pictures of the trees we were supposed to get. Beautiful cypress at 20ft tall. When the trees arrived they were all between 15-19ft and my client, who needed 20ft per spec, was not able to use them and rejected them which is understandable. They were not what he saw in the pictures and paid for. I contacted Dave and he said he would refund 4 of the trees. I said that would not work as all 8 are not what I ordered. I told him just to refund the cost of the 8 trees and I’ll absorb the $8,200 in freight. Dave gave me the run around and avoided my texts and phone calls. This particular client was a new, very high end, landscape contractor that I had never done business with. I had to refund my client as the trees were not what he ordered. So by dealing with Dave I lost a new client, I lost the sale, I lost the money I had to refund to my client and now I am having to sue Dave for my money back. Is doing business with this company worth this risk? I did everything Dave asked including prepaying the order. If you are going to chance it and order from these guys have them ship COD if you don’t you will regret it. I am waiting to see what Dave’s response is to this review. By the looks of the other negative reviews and his attempt to deny or blame the client, his response to this should be comical. Dave, how are you going to defend shipping the wrong trees and not refunding the money? I refunded my clients money because the trees were the wrong ones. Why don’t you think you should have to refund the money? I even offered to work the amount off of the next couple of trucks we ship. He is still refusing to refund my money. Word to the wise. Purchase your material from better companies that stand behind their work. Dave and V&B Nursery DOES NOT stand behind their work. Run from Dave as he is not honest. There are a lot of honest well run nurseries in California. Dave and V &B Nursery is NOT one of them. Please read the rest of the negative reviews and make your own determination. Buyer beware. Dave is not honest. He will send you pictures of nice perfect trees and ship different ones. The old bait and switch.

I was not able to reply to David's response to my original review so I will make a new one every time he lies about our experience. He is lying again. I gave him several opportunities to work this out. I even told him I would be ok with working it off on the next several truckloads of material we purchase from him, so it did not directly affect his cash flow. He would not do it and would not refund our money. We are out over $9,000 from dealing with David. The worst part is we lost a new, very high end, landscape contractor as a client due to David shipping the wrong size trees. We had to refund our client his money as we did not deliver what he ordered and paid for. David, if you are so willing to work this out and you "stand by your material, why are you being sued by us to recover our losses? I will surely get you served as you cannot continue to hide and have your people refusing to sign for the process server. Once I get you served and we win, I will be posting the outcome of the lawsuit to all these review boards warning people to stay away and then they will see the proof. You will not be able to continue to lie about this. I gave you plenty of time to reply with anything and you continued to ignore us and not take care of your responsibility. If anyone is that desperate that they decide to deal with this company, they should be well prepared to suffer the losses we did as David will never "stand behind” his material. David, all you have to do is “stand behind” your material and do what is right. As of now you are a thief. Please reply and justify you not refunding our money? Is it because you shipped what we ordered? Nope. Is it because we were unreasonable to work with? Nope. So, please let everyone know why you feel you should not have to refund our money, as you did not deliver anything close to what we ordered and you confirmed would be shipped. The material you shipped looks NOTHING like the picture you sent. People, please, if you are going to deal with this company, at least go and watch what they load. He is NOT honest and will screw you over. If he would “stand behind’ his material we would not be in this situation.

This owner has used fraudulent names to acquire business in the Las Vegas Area.
In May 2020 the owner, David Varela told us that he represented a very well known nursery in the Las Vegas Area, Star Nursery and sold us trees for our backyard. Knowing the reputation of Star Nursery, We paid over $1300 for the trees and soon thereafter they started to die.
We reached out to the person who personally sold us the trees, The owner David Varela but he kept making excuses about why the trees dies and EVEN TRIED TO SELL US MORE BAD PRODUCT!!
Since then, David refuses to take any responsibility for the trees and when I called Star Nursery, they told me that David does not, and has never worked for them. This guy will even answer the phone with “Star Nursery” if he thinks the call is coming from a potential Vegas buyer. He is as shady as they get. He does not stand by his product! Find somewhere else to do your business!!

Recently purchased 8 Italian Cypress trees for my front yard. Got them from V&B because they were healthy plants and the height that I wanted (appx 6'). And I looked around for the trees from other nurseries nearby but couldn't find good well maintained Cypress. David, the owner, was very helpful, friendly, and very pleasant to talk to. He discounted my delivery fee since I didn't live too far (15 minutes). He also educated me about the care of the trees when I asked. His nice staff, Saul, helped to deliver the trees to me in good condition. I'd go back to V&B for healthy plants!
